Anyone out there been watching this new TV show on spike called Deadliest Warrior? Let me start by saying this show is cool. And let me follow that by saying, Really? Cause that's what I say at the end of each episode.
In summation, this show takes 2 common fight styles, ex - Yakuza Vs. Mafia ; and some not so common, ex - Pirate vs. Knight.
They compare all avenues of how they fight, thing such as their long range, short range, hand to hand, and many other things. And after they through each, they (being Spike TV, or whoever produces this show) decide whom is best - ex, Yakuza has better close range weapons/blades than mafia.
Sounds fair, sounds good, until the end.
At the end of each episode the have a re-enactment of what a fight between the two would look like, and show you who is the deadliest warrior. And I think that this is cool, but how they choose their winners. All I can do after each episode is go "Come On". I think that they purposely choose the underdog to win, just so that it gives the show a sense of unpredictability, but just unbelievable.
Without being a spoiler, anyone see the Ninja Vs. Spartan episode. What the !!!!
Lets just say that the deciding factor in the winner and loser was a war-cry! Unbelievable.
Anyway, Love this show, I recommend it to anyone who is interested in this sort of conversation, becasue, although you may disagree with the verdict, the evidence is solid, and has a myth-busters feel to it, where they don't just say how much damage a war-hammer can do to a human skull - they show you. And the final judgement always makes for good conversation.
Fans of the show - Let me know, Is it just me who thinks that some of this victories are being given to the wrong warriors. Does anyone care? Does anyone think that the mere fact I'm posting a topic about this is evidence that I need to get out more?
Let me know?

I've seen one show on National Geographic that sounds similar -- yeah it was cool

But I've only seen one episode if that was the same show, so can't say if they pick the winner like that

haha yea ive been watching these things and yea in the end its pretty dope but the way they die is like ... can we maybe recalculate haha but i gotta say just watching it its pretty exciting and hearing the 2 groups talk smack bout the (exp.: ninja wep against the spartan armor and it just bounced off like a baby toy hahah) but i think its crazy how all the weapons did so much damage haha its crazy...
oo one more thing the to me the environment makes a big deal in the fight so i wonder if thats accounted for lol...
great show though

I think that after watching this show a little more, the results aren't the most important part of the show. For instance, in the green beret vs Spetznak, the difference between the winner and loser was 7 kills out of 1000 tests. And they get their test results based on how well the so called "experts" are with that weapon. and not the weapon itself. Again using the same episode as an example, both teams could cap targets with their side arms with 100% accuracy at 20 feet, so they devised that they do a speed test in the dark, to see who is more accurate. So now its no longer a weapon test, its a 1 on 1 contest of who "out of 2 people" is faster with their gun, and more accurate. Clearly the accuracy of the gun was dead on, but the computer gets fed that one gun is more accurate in the dark - which its not, just the shooter wasnt as accurate in the dark. Considering that, and that there was only a difference of 7 points. I find that the fight should have been a draw. Or at least the results of the side arm should have been considered to be even, and the night test not even done.
Im still thinking this show is super awesome, cause where else can you watch a human skull get turned to a bloody pulp after being beaten in with a shovel - and after which, have a doctor analyze the damage, explaining everything the person would feel, if anything, and how they would die, and how long it would take.
I loved the samurai episode for that. This freakin guy can fire old school arrows from 45 yards away, and nail a target, wearing a helmet, directly in the eye; twice. Two shots, two eyes. And the slow-mo camera shows that when the arrow hits, it wobbles, which literally makes the arrow dig into the back-side of the brain, and explains how even though this person is dead, they will live for 15-20 seconds and know that they were just tagged in the eye with an arrow, and live just long enough to know what could be the worst pain anyone could imagine.
All in All, Wicked show. All the episodes that have aired are available on demonoid. Im yet to watch this on TV. Whats the point when minutes after its aired, you can get a top quality commercial free dl. But I suggest this show for anyone who likes action movies, who plays video games, who is into dungeons and dragons, or even if you just plain like conflict. I believe that this show will affect future media, making it more realistic; seeing as anyone who has watched this now knows the true damage that can be caused by these weapons, if a director decides to film a scene with one of these weapons, he would be wise to know exactly what that weapon is capable of - otherwise a viewer of this show will chant "FAKE"!
Check this show out anyone who stumbles across this thread - Spike TV's "Deadliest Warrior"

The second season of my favourite show just started, the Deadliest Warrior. Does anyone else on the darkside watch it cuz i think its pretty sick. If you don't know how it works, a bunch of scientists and computer nerds work together to find which warrior is more deadly. For example they test the Green Beret (USA spec ops) and the Spetnaz (Russian spec ops) to see who is deadlier. They test melee, short range, medium range, long range, and explosive weapons. They put data they find from the weapons into a computer program that will simulate the battle between the to warriors. They simulate it 1000 times to make sure they get an accurate result and see which weapon got the most kills from one side. And whoever wins the most battles out of 1000 is declared more deadly
Anyways its an awesome show and i give it a solid 5 stars (out of 5

)
Oh and i made this thread so people can talk about the latest episodes and give there opinion who should have won

Besides the second season just starting, there has also been a 10th episode from Season 1 just released - 1 2hr special - called "Back for Blood Special". It's at noid if anyone cares :)
info at wiki ->
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadliest_War...r_Blood_SpecialEDIT:
Just watched it - you can call it season 1 episode 10 - or season 2 episode 0. It's 1hr and 3minutes long - so I guess the "2hr" special was stacked with adverts.

This show has more adverts than any other show that i have watched, probably because it is an expensive show
