First of all, this is the best site I have ever been on so thanks to everyone that contributed. My problem at the moment is this; I use Vuze for my iMac which has worked very well but I recently received and email stating that the torrent I downloaded was copyrighted and I was in violation, etc. What can I do to prevent this from happening again? I use cable for my internet and was told by a tech that when a torrent is shared and uploaded that this is the time when companies bust people. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi tarheel56, this is probably not the best forum to post this in, you might not get so much advice here as it's not really a Mac issue.

You can check out this guide by Warlordhunter for a good start. There's also loads of posts similar to your in the members discussions, you can use the search tool to help you find them but the advice is usually the same....there's some precautions you can practice but it's always a chance you take. drinks.gif

Hi tarheel56 devileek.gif

I have to agree with badog yes.gif Some measures can be performed to avoid the problem, but unfortunately none of them will prevent you 100% from being tracked.. I suggest that you start by Warlordhunter's guide and the General subforum of our guide section, use the search function to simplify your research. smile3.gif
